A good Samaritan is someone who helps a person in need because that person is kind and compassionate. People should not be mandated by law to help someone in need because aiding someone should come from the goodness of someone's heart. If people were forced to help people in need, they would be forced to help homeless people find a home and money or be sent to prison. obviously most people do not have that sort of money with how bad the economy is today, and they simply do not have time to help a homeless person find a home when they are off fending for themselves and earning their own money to support their families. Another reason why people should not be forced to help someone in need because being a good Samaritan is part of religious morality. Even if someone does not believe in a god they should still know that it is the right thing to do. But for the people that are religious, they believe that to follow God's morals and teachings is the way to achieve a pure heart and be accepted to heaven after death. Overall, helping someone because you are forced to, does not make someone a good Samaritan, only helping someone as a random act of kindness is the right way of a good Samaritan.
