Controversial Issues-Patricia Bunag

A controversial issue that I would agree upon having is being able to listen to your Ipod during class. Although it is said to keep your electronics away so that they would not be a distraction in class, listening to music keeps the mind calm. If a student were to be given too much work all in one class, they would be stressed out about how much they have to stay up late in order to finish it. I would allow this because music wouldn't be much of a distraction to many people and others find it soothing. Why would you I let them do this and what if it situations get worse? Obviously, in my own opinion, I would give them a chance to take out their Mp3 players or Ipods out so that there wouldn't be much distractions that would interrupt the class. Also, if it were to become a problem, simply confiscate problem and let the student have it after class. Teachers should at least permit their students to listen to their Ipod or Mp3 players, as from my observations of their attitudes, each person displays a calm expression walking into class listening to their music before it starts.
