A school policy which should be changed in schools is chewing gum during class. A CNN health article reports, "Teachers anecdotally found that students who chewed gum required fewer breaks, paid better attention and stayed quiet longer than those who did not. Also, newest study indicates that chewing gum can lead to better academic performance." Chewing gum can help the brain concentrate and access more memory. If several studies have been made about gum being able to help you improve academically, why not let students chew gum during school? Is it because it makes a mess around school campus? If so, the main reason why gum is seen around school and under the desks is simply because students feel that they need to hide the gum from all school authority. If I had the authority whether or not students should chew gum, I would at least give it a chance and try it out.
