Rachelle Rosano - Controversial School Policies

One school policy that is implemented inside the classroom is the restriction of listening to music on an iPod or other MP3/electronic device. I believe that this rule should be less strict, and only be put into effect during quiz/test-taking or during a lecture or lesson. If the students are working on classwork individually or have any free time to work on anything else by themselves, I think they should be allowed to listen to their iPods, because for some people, listening to music can help them stay motivated. It is also be something that can prevent useless side conversation among each other that will make the classroom environment nosier than it should be, and I'm sure that if we students were permitted to listen to music, more people would be focused.
