Controversial School Policy - Jocelyn Ramirez

One of the school policies that everyone dislikes is not able to chew gum. This policy should be modified because it is a way for us to relax and to focus. Not only is it just to relax but gum chewing is a way for us to keep our breath minty clean. It also helps us to concentrate and focus more on school work. A study has shown that if students who chew gum while taking an exam are the ones who pass. Another study by professor Andrew Scholey, has shown that gum chewing is a way to reduce anxiety when people are experiencing higher levels of stress. These are studies that have been shown by professional professors who believe that chewing gum is to guarantee kids to receive good grades and less stress. In conclusion I hope that by modifying this policy that it has proven you to give us the chance to try to make this school rule a reality by letting us students chew gum during class.
