The impact of Hurricane Irene was not as big of a disaster as Hurricane Katrina but did have a big effect on the East Coast. Hurricane Irene hit the U.S East Coast with a wind of 85 mph making more than 2 million people evacuating. Also causing about 1 billion dollars worth of damage in the East Coast. About forty people had died from this disaster and many people lost their homes and had to find shelter. Hurricane Irene created massive floods and intense winds in eleven states. This storm was not as predicted to be a huge disaster but still has effected the East Coast.
