Bio - Rondee Tanciatco

Hello, my name is Rondee Tanciatco and I was born on June 20, 1996. I am mainly Filipino but I'm also part Chinese. Like everyone else here, I attend Olympian High School as a sophomore. I have several hobbies, such as going on the computer or phone and doing whatever I want to do (video games, YouTube, etc.) and talking or hanging out with my friends. I do enjoy PE or fitness activities as well, even if I often don't get out of the house. I am part of the school's band and have been a member since last year. I really enjoy playing the clarinet (started middle school) and have met a lot of new friends and all sorts of new people because of the program/class. I really enjoy all of our performances and competitions, even if we don't come out on top or get the highest score. I think what matters is that we do our best and improve ourselves so we can become even better musicians. I've really learned the importance of responsibility and teamwork just by being in band and staying committed (and intend to stay for the next two years). I hope I can become a good student and obtain high grades this year, because I feel it will be much more different than freshman year.

Bio- Patricia Bunag

My name is Patricia Bunag. I was born in the Philippines on May 23, 1996, so.. I'm 15 years old of course. I'm currently a sophomore at Olympian High School. I have left my home town at 2 and a half years old and have been living in San Diego for most of my life. A couple of my favorite hobbies are swimming and art. Art never was really a passion I had from the past until time went by and started to change things since my interest in it grew after looking at designs people make. I was a little fond of sports such as basketball like my family but I was more focused on swimming, however, I don't watch any shows about it since I get bored, but the competitiveness the people had and how it was a hard-working sport that could possibly be fun at the same time caught my attention .

Bio - Rani Salileng

Hi! My name is Ranilynne Salileng, but people usually call me Rani. I'm a 15 year old girl, born on December 13, 1995. I was born in Oahu, Honolulu and came to San Diego when I was four years old. I am now a sophomore attending Olympian High School, Class of 2014! One of my passions since I was younger has been Hula/Tahitian dancing. In my spare time, I enjoy playing volleyball for fun, hanging out with family & friends, and meeting new people. After high school, I plan to join either the U.S. Navy or Air force. I think it would be alot of work, but it would benefit me in the future and be worth it.

Bio - Ryan Kim

Hello my names is Ryan Kim. I was born in Korea on April 25th 1996. After a month, my family and i moved to Texas and had lived there for about 6 years and moved back to Korea. Again, due to my father's business, we moved to San Diego 4 years ago. Currently i am attending Olympian Highschool as a sopmore, playing soccer and track. Although my picture above is track, my favorite activity is soccer. Some others always have this reputation of Asians, where Asians cannot play soccer well. This has to be changed! In Korea, like all Americans playing football, people there dedicate themselves with a world wide sport, soccer. I started playing soccer in Korea, and i've been playing it for 7 years. Currently I am in Varsity soccer, moved up form last year from JV, and planning on playing other sports too. The picture above was taken in Spring, when our Olympian realay team won a gold medal on sprint medly (200m,100m,100,400m). This concludes my bio.

Bio- Jake Schaeffer

My name is Jake Schaeffer and I am a Wrestler.
I started wrestling last summer and have 32 varsity wins and 11 career losses.I like wrestling for many reasons. I like the fact its as much a mental game as physical, without the right mindset you wont be able to wrestle at the top of your game. When you wrestle you cant hide behind a uniform your not on the field with 10 other guys, Its you and your opponent , and everyone can see you fail, if you gassed out, if you gave up. but they also see you when you win, it is the greatest feeling imaginable.
My name is Jake Schaeffer and I am a Wrestler

Then 8 years later, we moved to San Diego. I am now attending Olympian High School as a sophomore. Two things I enjoy very much are basketball, which I have played on and off since the third grade, and art/drawing, which I have been passionate about for as long as I could remember! In the future, I plan on traveling the world and then living in some exciting city. I want to graduate from the UCLA with a degree in something design/art related. Another thing I love doing is spending time with my family. My family is pretty big and we are all extremely close. This is a picture of my team and I which is called the california allstars. This formation in the picture is called a pyramid. Im a flyer on the far right side pulling a heal stretch.  Although practices may be tough and difficult I consider  competitve cheer as a fun and enjoyable hobby of mine.

This is currently my second year at Olympian High and so far everything has been well. Somethings I enjoy to do are bike, travel, and spend time with myself. The picture on the right was my trip to NY; it was really fun and enjoyable. Every once in awhile I like to go for a long bike ride and just take in the sights and the fresh San Diego air. I don't like to be like everyone else nor do the same thing as everyone else. I'm not afraid to try new thing or meet new people. I'm very easy going and fun to hang out with. After finishing high school I plan to go to college and become a successful person in the field of business management. Personally I'm a person that likes to lead and not follow, but to get to that leading role you have to follow the others willing to take you their.

Bio- Emerson Jimenez

My name is Emerson Jimenez and one of my hobbies is folding origami. I have started doing origami since I moved into Japan. At first, I was not too enthusiastic about it when we were forced to do it for a grade. However, when I saw the many things that could be made with just a square piece of paper, I was amazed. I started repeating the origami projects our teacher had us finish in class and it turned into a hobby. Origami can take a large amount of time and patience, because it's hard to get on the first try. I just don't know how I would be spending my free time if I didn't have paper folding.

Educational Expierence

The first week of school was good to me. It was very hard waking up in the morning for the past three days. I was very excited to see who was in my classes and what teachers i would have. I was very glad to have the class Formal Geometry Support because , that's the class i would most likely struggle with this year. I enjoyed walking into my P.E class because , my teacher Ms Hernandez let us get to know everybody in that class. This year i plan on getting all A's and B's , and do great on the CAHSEE.

Wassgood
, Im LeAndre Powell & Love Basketball! Basketball Is my addiction . I wake up , and only think about basketball . I think about how can I get better , how can I perfect my shot . But as you can see im #23 and am the leader of the pack , well I think so . I plan to go to Duke or Kentucky , & eventually want to play in the NBA or Streetball . As you can see i have a wonderful coach that likes to demonstrate everything and get into the game . I plan to tryout for varsity when basketball season comes around . Without basketball I think I would be another random kid with undiscovered talent .

Interest Hobby - Victor Limon

My is name Victor Limon and one of my hobbies is playing sports. When i was little i tryed out many sports but I think the only two I really stuck to and had the most fun were Basketball and Football. But as the years went on i kind of faded away from Football and started playing more basketball. Right now i currently play on the Thunder Club Basketball Team and I'm hoping to be a part of the Olympian Eagles JV Basketball team or possibly the Varsity Team because you never know unless you try. This is a picture of me and a couple of my great teammates about to get subbed into the game after a short rest, incase you were wondering im number 2.

Bio - Ronald Magsino

I am Ronald Magsino and I'm 14 years old. There aren't many things that I'm very passionate about, but one of those few things are wrestling. Wrestling, is just so appealing to me because you always have to be on your toes, otherwise you're getting your butt kicked. However, it has also taught me a lot of other things. Life puts you on your back many times through out the years, and wrestling is all about getting off your back! Its helped me not stress over all the little things and whatnot! Wrestling is my passion, my stress reliever, and my life. I don't know what I would be doing if it wasn't for wrestling!

Bio- Arvin Dagoc

My name is Arvin Dagoc. A thing I enjoy doing is playing the cello. In the picture above, I am playing with my class at Disneyland. This was before we started playing and we all looked up at our conductor for our cue to start. Our orchestra class was the first in Eastlake Middle history to make it to Disneyland and we all had a great time. During free time, playing the cello makes me feel happy and relaxed. It is just something I love to do. I plan on taking orchestra for all four years of Olympian High school.

My name is Kayla Voas. I'm 15 years and in September I will be 16. I'm a sophomore at Olympian High. I was born here in California. I lived in Rhode Island off and on because my dad is in the Navy. I am 5'1. I play the guitar and I'm learning to play the harmonica, piano, and the ukulele. Last year I participated in Olympian's lady eagles volleyball and softball team. It was really fun being on the two teams with my friends and my new teammates. Ever since being on the team for both volleyball and softball I had the opportunity to meet a bunch of new people that are now my friends. I also learned to be more confident in what I do. I have 2 brothers, one is 18 and going into college, and my other brother is 13 and just started 8th grade. I love animals. I adopted a 6 month old lab mix last week and she is really warming up to us. She has taught me to be trustful with others and so always try to learn new things. She has taught me this because when we first saw her at the pound she was very unsocialized and she wasn't trained at all. Now she is playing with us, her toys, and other dogs. She is also learning to walk on a leash and she is now house trained. She is also learning commands like sit and lay down. She has just learned all this in just a little under a week. By doing that she has helped me strive for what I believe in and that I can learn new things if I try hard enough.
-Kayla Voas

Bio-Elijah Reyes

My name is Elijah James Reyes born Febuary 20, 1996. I'm an athlete that has played sports ever since i was 7. The sports i play are basketball, track, and football. However, out of those three sports football has always been my #1. My position in football is Fullback and outside linebacker. My number on the field and hopefully my number for the rest of my high school football career, is 38. The reason why i love football is because it has taught me valuable lessons about life. It taught me if i fall down, just get back up, shake it off, and go at it again. It also toughened me up a little. I don't know where i'd be in life without football. It kept me occupied and helped keep me on check. I hope to keep playing football, it is such a fun sport and ill always remember my experiences playing this rough, thinking sport.
The past three days of school was very exciting because I got to see all my friends again and I go to see what teachers I got. An educational experience I had was when I entered my chemistry class. As every single person walked in my teacher tried to learn everybodys name and gave us a handshake. Another experience I had was when I was in my computer art class. My teacher understood how us teenagers are so he decided to tell us a lot of interesting stories. The class was, and still is, super chill.

I began playing this sport in the beginning of freshman year, and made the team of 17 after trying out with about 30 or 40 other girls. Our record by the end of the season was 11-1, having one loss against Southwest High. Over this past year, I've grown such a strong liking for this sport & I'm in the process of improving my game to, once again, try out for the team, except this time, for the prestigious JV team that's only taking in 12 skillful players. This is a challenge that I've been willing to take on since day one, & with practice, hardwork, & determination, I'm ready to give my all to continue to play this sport.

Bio - Jocelyn Ramirez

Ever since I was a child I always dreamed of playing this beautiful and musical instrument. I fell in love the moment I began playing it. The excitement and thrill to just play such amazing pieces such as Beethoven's Ode to Joy or the famous Can Can and many other pieces. In this picture it shows my classmates and I playing at a Christmas Concert in Olympian High School. We played so many fun Christmas pieces. I will continue playing for the rest of my life because this instrument is part of me.

My parents got divorced, so I have a step-dad for already, 11 years. I have two miniature poodles named Lani and Fiona. I also have a couple of gold fishes, and one turtle. In this picture on the right, this is my best friend named Charlene. As you can see, we hardly take any decent pictures. I've known Charlene since the 6th grade, but never really talked to her until 7th grade. We've been the best of friends ever since. I absolutely love hanging out with her, and as well with our other friend Kiani. The things I really enjoy is eating food and wasting time on the internet.

Bio - Adrian Ruano

My name is Adrian Ruano. I was born on June 6th, 1996 and I am currently fifteen years of age. One of the things I enjoy most is playing Baseball. In the picture shown above, a small portion of the trophies and medals I have been awarded are pictured. I have played Baseball since I was 4 years old and have always had the passion to play the game. I decided to take a break from playing Baseball my freshmen year and I am considering playing it my sophmore year. I'm told by my peers that in order to do what I love most, I need to constantly remind myself that I need to keep school my main priority. I have participated in several other sports in the past such as Football and Soccer. Team work is what is most important to accomplish your goals as a team which has shown in many projects I have participated in at school. I am an outgoing person who is open to trying new things.

Bio-Bradley Roberto

My name is Bradley Roberto. I'm fourteen years-old and my favorite hobby is playing baseball. In this picture I was playing right field and i dove and caught a line drive that was hit to me for an out. I would like to play baseball professionally because baseball is my biggest passion in the world. I have no idea what i would do without baseball, all I can do now is keep pursuing my dreams and hope to accomplish my goals.
My name is Benji Garcia. One of my few hobbies is blogging. In my picture I asked my sister to take a spontaneous photo while I scroll down my dashboard to capture me in a moment of blogging. I run a blog on a site that people aren't supposed to mention called "Tumblr," it's one of the unofficial rules but I say to heck with it. I run a blog on fashion and humor mixed with personal posts sometimes. It's my favorite thing to do because it's so great seeing every one's posts on my dashboard that vary from fashion to random funny posts. Some people don't consider this a hobby, but I certainly do. I do this whenever I have leisure time and can't get out of the house, it keeps my busy from being bored, and keeps me in touch with the world; Believe it or not but news gets around quicker than a wild fire on there compared to a T.V. News Station. I'm obsessed with it, and with me being on my follower's dashboards, I'm helping people with their fashion one follow at a time.

Bio - Dristay Torres

My name is Dristay Torres. Two sports I absolutely love to participate in are cross country and soccer. Just last year I got involved in cross country with our school and improved tremendously throughout the season. Today, I even continue to run 5 miles every day and recently participated in my first 5k race, placing 2nd place in my age division of 13-17 years old out of the entire san diego county area. In comparison to cross country, last year was also my first year that I played soccer for our school's girl's JV soccer team. Our team did great the entire season and we accomplished many of our goals. Not to mention, I accomplished many of my own personal goals by scoring 7 goals throughout the season and receiving the MVP award. As you can see, I really love soccer and cross country.

Bio-Jonathan Navarro

My name is Jonathan Navarro. One of my favorite hobbies is to play basketball. In this picture I am shooting free throws during our tournament in Las Vegas. Basketball takes alot of hard work to become successful just like in school. I can't imagine life without it, it's a part of me. The practices, long bus rides, night games, and countless pairs of basketball shoes and long socks. It's who I am, without it my life would become black and white.

Educational Experience

The first week of school... was rather very chaotic then overwhelming. 2 AP classes and an honor class just made my mind go on high alert mode. But it was very enjoyable and a very good experience. I have at least some people i know in every class so i do not worry that i would be left alone i guess. One class that i really look forward to is Mr. Chicos APWH class. It seems really fun and very interesting.

Bio - Mr. Salazar

Educational Experience

Being able to start a new year at school was exciting and overwhelming. At first, I wasn't too thrilled about going back to school, but my teachers changed my opinion about that during the first fifteen minutes of their classes. One class that stood out to me in particular was my first period, AP World History. It is my most challenging class, but we were reassured that once we got into the routine of the class, things would go by easier. Although lectures, notes, and tests/exams may sometimes be overwhelming, I am looking forward to the rest of whatever sophomore year has for me.

--Janelle Delosreyes

Educational Experience

My first week of school was great and refreshing. Although having trouble getting up early for the first three days, i learned valuable things such as procedures and rules for each class. Probably, Ms. Hadi's was the most overwelming class. The first day of the class started with taking vast amount of notes of ancient history. However her positive energy motivated all the classmates to be excited rather than scared. For other classes we covered the academic literacy plan and its details. Writing a page describing academic literacy plan was one example. I really look forward to having good grades this year with my great classmates and teachers.

Educational Experience

After about 6 weeks of vacation, I felt that I wasn't ready to go back to school. On the first day after we got our schedules and headed to class, I thought to myself, "I really don't want to be here." However, when we arrived in our classes, I realized within the first 10 minutes of each of my classes, that my teachers were going to make this year one to remember. On the second day, when we actually were taught something, I thought the teachers were even better than the day before. My learning experience so far has been a great one, and I hope that the rest of the year will be even better than the first few days.

-Emerson Jimenez

Educational Experience

My educational experience was when my chemistry teacher greeted everyone in class the first three days of school to get to know our name, no teacher has ever done that to me. In the first 3 days of school i was excited to know that all my friends were in my classes and to know my classes. I like that some of my classes were easier than i thought, I thought geometry and spanish would ne hard but it turned out easy. If i study more and pay attention in class i would be able to get good grade.

Educational Experience

When i first got to school, i thought that my AP World History class would be difficult because everything would be done at a really fast pace, but after the first three days of the year, I realized that my AP world teacher is really laid-backed and makes many analogies to what he was teaches with other things that everyone can understand. The summer assignment also made we worry about the year because it was a little overwhelming, and i would have to do similar work along with work from all my other classes, but my worries have lessened now that I've met my teachers and learned that if i pay attention carefully and not procrastinate, i would have no problems meeting my goals for the year.

Educational Experience

After a short, yet enjoyable six-week summer break, I was prepared returning back to school. I didn't have any outstanding expectations for the first three days back at Olympian High. Waiting at the bus stop on the first day already made it feel like I wasn't away from my daily school routine for very long. What I enjoyed about coming back to my second home was having that superior feeling of no longer being part of the underdog freshmen class anymore. The fact that last week was the beginning of sophomore year was overwhelming by itself, & that feeling was great. The class that I'm surprisingly looking forward to is AP World History, because my teacher, Ms. Hadi, introduced herself to the class with so much energy & assurance that the year will be a fun learning experience. I generally don't like history class, but I'm ready to be open-minded, hoping that this particular class will live up to the newly found standard. One unfortunate experience that caught me off-guard was receiving a D in a short, 12 fill-in-the-blank quiz for AP Biology. I suppose I could use that as a wake up call to improve my lack of focus so I can be better prepared for this coming year in that AP class. Overall, I'm looking forward to a great 2011-2012 school year.
-Rachelle Rosano

Educational Experience

I think my first week as a sophmore at Olympian High didnt really differ much from my freshman year besides the fact of knowing that i wasnt at the bottom of the school anymore. Upon entering this years new classes i noticed that this year was going to be much more challenging then last year. During only my second day in history class i had already been assigned to finish a 3 paragraph essay for homework, after that it felt like it was going to be a really long year and there was going to be a lot more expected out of me but im looking foward to it and the rest of the challenges it brings.

Educational Experience

My first week at Olympian high was exciting mainly because i got to meet my new teachers and i got to see my old friends from freshmen year. As a sophomore, i knew what to expect when i got to school on the first day in comparison to freshman year where i easily got lost and i did not have many friends. I will miss some teachers from freshman year but i know i have great teachers this year and they will make it a awesome year for me.

Educational Experience

The first week of school starting as a sophomore was pretty much the same as freshman year but differed on areas such as having your classes and how challenging they're going to be compared to last year. Although everything in school may almost be similar, the teachings on some of my classes were more focused on the Academic Literacy Plan. I was very exited to see my friends while coming back to school but I was more focused on what my classes were and how nervous I was going to be during our return to school. However, while the days go on by I slightly get used to my classes each day and as I try to pay attention to the daily objectives given, I might as well just try to look forward to the future.

Educational Experience

The first week of school as a sophmore in Olympian was very different from my freshmen year. It was easier to navigate around the school and find my classes. I found my teachers to be polite, helpful, and came across as individuals who wanted you to become successful this year. I'm satisfied with my classes and very happy with the teachers who I was enrolled with. I was very excited to see that I had Mr. Chico as my AP World History teacher. I automatically felt comfortable and excited to learn once I witnessed his style of teaching. I know AP World History will be quite difficult, but I understand I need to push my boundaries and put all my effort to become successful in that class. Judging by the first week of school, I can tell that I will have a pleasant and exciting year as a sophmore academically and socially. I plan to put all my effort into my work and turn my main priorities towards school.

Educational Experience

An educational experience I had within the first three days of sophomore year was in AP World History with Ms. Hadi. As each student walked into her class we walked in saying "Goodmorning" or "Hello." After getting a feel of what her class would be like, it felt a bit overwhelming. In a "normal week" in her class we would go over more than one chapter, take a quiz/test on friday, group projects, etc. But she reassured us once we got into routine doing these things we would have a much easier time. I look forward to whatever else is in store for this year.

Educational Experience

The first three days of school were great. I knew Olympian much better than I did last year so getting around was easier. An educational experience I enjoyed the first week of school, was when I had to talk in front of my orchestra class. My orchestra teacher told me to go up in front of the class and talk about VAPA camp (visual and preforming arts camp). I told the class about my experiences in VAPA camp during the summer. At first I was nervous, but as I talked more about how fun it was, I started to enjoy telling the class about my fantastic experiences during the camp. I just had a great time talking and explaining VAPA camp in front of the class. After I was done, the claps started and I felt good about myself.

Educational Experience

These past three days of the first week of this year was very interesting. Especially since I knew my way around school, so it was easy to go to my classes. Also, I didn't like how I hardly had anyone I knew in each and everyone of my classes. So of course, I need to make new friends in each of my classes. But for an educational experience, I really liked how I had Ms. Woo again this year. I had her last year for algebra, and now I have her again for geometry accelerated. I really like that class because when she teaches, it's easy for me to understand. Also because, I like math. But I think out of all of my classes, all of my accelerated classes would be a challenge since I have three accelerated classes. Well, that would mean I would need to challenge myself and do the best I could throughout this school year.

Educational Experience

The first week of school went by really fast for me, but I can say that a lot of my classes are looking very pleasing both educationally and socially. It was also a lot easier navigating around the campus, as I already knew where everything was. This of course made everything a hundred times easier! I have gotten all the classes I wanted, and I know a good amount of people in each class. However, I think AP World History will be a challenge, and so will Accelerated Biology. So far, studying in AP World History has been a great experience and I am looking forward to all the future lectures.

Educational Experience

Being back in school felt really interesting. I wasn't use to my new schedule so seeing new teachers & different people in my class didn't seem right, but getting to know everyone is helping me adjust to the new school year. I can tell this is going to be a good year, but I also realized that school has to be my first priority to be successful. Something I enjoyed about the first few days of school was being in Mrs. Lara's class & watching a video about Chemistry.

Educational Experience

A good educational experience I had within the first days of school was seeing that my classes were mentally easy . I had expected that my geometry class would be hard but then I learned paying attention in class increases your ability to understand & complete work ( problems ) . Another experience I had in the first 3 days of school was seeing all my friends that I hadn't seen in awhile and telling them about my adventures I had over the summer . One experience I disliked was having P.E. 6 period because i have to wait all day and go through all my periods till being able to go P.E.

My Experience

Started school this year as a sophomore and I was nervous about the new teachers I was going to encounter and the new classes I would have. Didn't feel like I would know anyone in my classes and the teachers would be really strict. One of my many positive educational experience's this first week of school was that all that wasn't correct; the teachers were very warm and welcoming and I knew people in my classes. This made my first week at school very pleasant and enjoyable and I was glad to see the atmospheres in most of my classes were well organized and the least bit stressful. I'm looking forward to a successful year and positive experience with this years teachers.

Educational Experience

My first week of school was quite overwhelming due to the fact that I was given so many responsibilities and tasks all at once. For example, at first I assumed that I was going to enter any other ordinary chemistry class, to my unknown I was given a completely different class than what I had expected. It's difficulty level was past my expectations, but I have great hopes, because I know this course will be very beneficial and stretch me to new limits.

Educational Experience

This week wasn't as eventful as I would've expected it to be, but I believe I have learned a couple of things here and there to start my year of in a good way. One thing I really did enjoy this week was my APWH class, my teacher Ms. Hadi already had us learning and going over some things and I believe that I would learn very well in that class since she has a very organized and thorough procedure for doing everything. Also, her enthusiasm and energy while teaching lessons really does keep me engaged in the subject which would hopefully help me in the long run with doing good in that class as well as how well I would comprehend the material given to me.

Educational Experience

The first week of school was both better and fun than last year. This time i knew where to go and i never got lost. It was also great to see all my friends again because break got boring and there wasn't much to do. Another thing i liked about this week was getting to meet all my teachers and to find out that most of them are pretty cool. Most of my teachers greeted my class in with a smile or a handshake. It made me feel like im really going to like that class. I really disliked waking up early in the morning though, and also having to rush from my 5th period to Pe. However i feel like im really going to like this year a lot and im looking forward to learning more.

Educational Expierience

This week at school was not very eventful. Besides my new classes everything feels the same. one thing that happened was we had no desks in my geometry class so we had to stand the whole time. I dont really know if I answered the prompt right but this is what happened my first week at school.

Educational Experience

The first week of school was like a more normal kind of school week than when I first year. This time I really felt happy, I knew how to get around to find my classes, so that gave me confidence and a good feeling. I love all my classes, I really like all my teachers, and I got to make some new friends. I'm ready to learn as much as I can and I really want to get the best grades possible. I enjoyed the spirit and attitude at Olympian. I'm eager to start learning and I know this year is gonna go flying. GO EAGLES!

Educational Experience

to me the first week of school was good because all i got to see my some of my good friends also i got some great classes including Mr.Salazar, Mrs.Hernandez, and Mrs.Cervantes. all of these classes seem like im going to benefit from it to get a good education from it. and also to make some more friends this school year.

Educational Experience.

An educational experience I enjoyed in the first week of school was in my World History class with Ms. Cervantes. I had her in freshman year for World Geography and she was my favorite teacher that year. When I walked into the class she immediately remembered my name and greeted me in, making me feel like it's going to be a good year already. As class started, she welcomed everyone with a warm smile and told everyone a little about herself before she really started. Through out the class period she would occasionally make a quick laugh that would have the whole class laughing; I'm sure it made everyone feel more comfortable and less tense. I hope this will be a great year.

Educational Experience

An enjoyable educational experience that I had on the first week of school was with my AP Biology teacher, Ms. More. On the very first day of school, as every student entered the classrom, she greeted them with a huge smile. Then, as class began, she animatedly talked about our AP Biology course. She was so enthusiastic about it, that it made me feel confident in the fact that I knew I could excel in her class, despite the multiple challenges I am guaranteed to encounter. This entire week she has been an outstanding teacher aiding all of her AP Biology students; No wonder why she received the Teacher of the Year Award. I eagerly anticipate the rest of the year being in her class.

Academic Literacy Plan

How effective is the Academic Literacy Plan?  I am told to teach systematically and I believe this is the best way for an entire school to teach a set of 6 skills and 3 habits to a school that has over 1800 students.  Others may argue that this systematic approach of teaching inhibits a teacher's creativity within their classroom or does it?
