A controversial school policy that I believe should be modified is the topic of hall passes or "The Restroom Pass".The school guidelines state, students are permitted out of class for emergency situations or office slips, after the first ten minutes and before the last ten minutes of class. This rule is very unreasonable, for that an average person uses the restroom 6 to 7 times a day. While spending most of our time in class with only a 45 minute total break period,it leaves us little to no time to use the restroom as much as we need to.Yes,some students take advantage of the restroom pass to escape class and waste time but majority of students are telling the truth and using that time to actually use the restroom or accommodate the office needs. If we students are respectively telling the teachers the truth and following orders, I believe we should have full right to fufill our personal needs. With a few modifications this rule can become very beneficial to both students and staff which can lead to an improved learning enviorment.
