Hurricane Irene of 2011 has left alot of damage to the east coast. It was the first major hurricane and a devestaing natural disaster in 2011. Irene left twelve billion dollars worth of damage. This hurricane destoryed houses, and buildings causing millions of people to evacuate. The floods of this life threatening hurricane also killed a number or lives. This storm had an affect on almost every state in the East Coast such as Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, and other countires as well. Although many people believed that Hurrincane Irene was not going to turn out less disasterous, it still created a big impact in others lives.

Hurricane Irene Impact

A major situation going on right now is Hurricane Irene. It wasn't predicted to have much damage as Hurricane Katrina, but citizens were still packing up and heading into shelter. The death toll is just at 42 people so far but we may see more. Irene hit with a whooping 85 mph causing an estimated $7 billion worth of damage to the east coast compared to the $100 billion that Hurricane Katrina destroyed. The impact has been on 11 states causing flooding and violent winds. The rain measurement has reached between 5 to 12 inches over the Eastern Coast of the U.S.

Hurricane Irene - Adrian Ruano

Hurricane Irene was an impactful storm which left a strong mark along the East coast. The threat level in the northeast was extreme. The hurricane consisted of strong winds, flooding rains, downed trees, and widespread power outages. The hurricane first reached North Carolina. It then led to Virginia and New York which experienced flooding and downed trees. Although Hurricane Irene did slow down, it remained large and destructive which was much longer than most huricanes. Thousands of people evacuated their homes and seeked shelter. States of emergency were sent through the National guard in order to inform the people. Many of the highways are still flooded and many are still left with power outages.

One rainy sunday, the citizens of Little egg New Jersey were hit by a massive and devastating surprise.Hundreds of thousands New Jersey citizens were caught off guard when they were surprisingly evacuated from their beloved homes as a rush of life-threatening waves hit their shores. The monster's of Irene swept across New Jersey causing an estimated 12.5 billion dollars worth of damage. The 24 feet high flooding led to millions of people with no electricity and transportation. To make matters worse, there is a debate within the federal court of how much money should be used to aide the state.Leading to a shortening of food and supplies.Hopefully massive recovery is in their future,as many citizens and fellow states pray for .

Hurricane warnings had been frequently appearing to those on the east coast for the past few weeks. This past weekend a hurricane swept the east coast killing 40 people over this three day period. East Coast residents prepared as if the hurricane was going to be as serious as a previous hurricane such as hurricane Katrina. People in places such as inland parts of North Carolina and New York weren't badly affected but those near water had devastating outcomes; homes were destroyed, streets were flooded, whole trees fell, trailers were broken, and power was lost; currently some power is still out in parts of North Carolina and the New York and New Jersey areas.Vermont a state just west of New Hampshire experienced massive flooding. National guards got stuck trying to rescue those suffering in Vermont. Hurricane Irene was said to be the tenth billion dollar storm of 2011. Debris is scattered all over the 11 states and it will take quite some time to get every thing back to its original state.

Hurricane Irene - Regine Hutalla

Early morning on August 27, Hurricane Irene traveled up the East Coast starting from North Carolina, up to New England. The East Coast has not experienced a hurricane this disastrous in over a century; however it is still smaller than predicted. With its 90 mile per hour winds and heavy rainfall, Hurricane Irene resulted in costly disarray. The hurricane affected millions of people and caused power outages, flooding, mass transit shutdowns, and mandatory evacuations in the 11 states hit. Although it will take a large amount of time, the government is doing their best to repair damage starting with shelters and a search and rescue team.

Hurricane Irene - Jocelyn Ramirez

Hurricane Irene, a ferocious and slow-moving storm, smashed into North Carolina, then slowly swirled its way up the Eastern Seaboard, flooding low-lying areas, knocking out power to as many as 1 million residents. More than ten thousand people were evacuated. The evacuation began in North Carolina island ahead of hurricane Irene. Authorities still expect the storm to affect almost every state along the East Coast such as Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, and many other states. Irene is so strong that it was category 4 hurricane. That could make Irene even more dangerous and potentially devastating costing billions of dollars in damages.

Hurricane Irene-Nicole Provins

The impact of Hurricane Irene was not as big of a disaster as Hurricane Katrina but did have a big effect on the East Coast. Hurricane Irene hit the U.S East Coast with a wind of 85 mph making more than 2 million people evacuating. Also causing about 1 billion dollars worth of damage in the East Coast. About forty people had died from this disaster and many people lost their homes and had to find shelter. Hurricane Irene created massive floods and intense winds in eleven states. This storm was not as predicted to be a huge disaster but still has effected the East Coast.

Hurricane Irene-Jonathan Navarro

Many people on the east coast predicted Hurricane Irene to be a devestating natural disaster. although it did nit cause as much damage as predicted, it still left a big dent in the east coast. Irene left twelve billion dollars worth of damage in its path and claimed the lives of about fourty people. The hurricane caused many floods, causing people to evacuate their homes and seek new shelter. States of emergency were announced and the National Gaurd was deployed to help aid the refugees. Many are still without power on the east coast and many of the roads and highways are still blocked by floodwaters.

Hurrican Irene - Emerson Jimenez

Hurricane Irene killed about forty people over the course of the weekend. Hurricane Irene hit eleven states with storms and violent winds. It was not as devastating as anticipated, but still dealt a lot of damge to the East Coast. This hurricane was smaller compared to others, however, it still estimates to about 1 billion dollars worth of damage.

Hurrican Irene - Anna Malabanan

Hurricane Irene left the East Coast residents in devistation because of the deadly storm. Hurrican Irene left an impact on 11 states with floods and voilent winds left scattered throught out towns. This destruction estimated about to about 1 billion dollars worth of damage. Even though it is said that hurrican Irene is smaller than previous hurricans this is still a big one for us not to miss.

Hurricane Irene - Rachelle Rosano

East coast residents were expecting a terribly devastating hurricane, possibly causing the same affect as harsh as Hurricane Katrina's, after its prediction was made only recently. The 'hurricane' turned out to be less disastrous as most people believed it would be, but this storm still caused quite the fiasco. Floods and harsh winds left an expensive mess, and costed a number of people their lives. This tropical wave was conjured up in the Atlantic Ocean, mainly targeted at the New England area of the United States as well as the Caribbean.

Hurricane Irene

Last weekend, The east coast was warned to prepare for a devastating hurricane that was sure to cause major damages throughout. It was being monitored for the last few days and was categorized as a class 1 hurricane. But surprisingly, when it reached the east coast, it was not as bad as anticipated. It was downgraded to a tropical storm soon after. Nonetheless, it still costed lives and money, close to 1 billion dollars in damages. There were many floods and power outages in the cities affected such as New York city. The media made this hurricane sound as if it was a high threat to the nation, whereas it did affect many people, but not as bad as people anticipated.

Hurricane Irene-Dristay Torres

During the past few weeks, United States inhabitants on the east coast had been anticipating the worst as Hurricane Irene was said to hit. However, depite the constant hype and overprecaution created by the TV and the US Government, when Hurricane Irene actually hit the US it was meerely a small one compared to other hurricanes and devasting weather conditions as it was rated a level one hurricane. Although, Hurricane Irene still left an impact for the east coast as it effected 11 states and millions of people. In fact, as a result of Hurrican Irene, cities were flooded with angry flows of waters, houses were torn apart and violent winds that reached up to about 80 mph, teared trees from their roots and left them scattered throughout towns. The surprising thing though about this hurricane is that despite the estimated billion dollar cost in destruction, some people say that when it hit the east coast it was just a powerful tropical storm as the actual hurrican had transformed along its path to the US. All in all, people in the east coast are left with the great endeavor to rebuild their homes due to Hurricane Irene's destructive effects.

Good Samaritan Act -Byung Gwan Lim

One day, when I was still a little kid and lived in Korea, I remember myself riding the bicicle. I made a turn but apparentaly, I did not turn enough so I grinded my face on the brick wall that was right where I made the turn. Half of my face was scratched, bleeding. I started crying because it hurt so much. Someone... I think it was a high school student... he carried me and took me to the nearest public bathroom and washed my face so it would not get infected and kindly asked me where my house was and took me to my house. I felt so thankful for that person that was being such a good samaritan. If he was not there, then I would have just stayed there, without anyone knowing that I was there since it was a preety isolated area. So, I still feel thankful to the person taht helped me for performing such a wonderful good samaritan act.

Good Samaritan Act - Regine Dionisio

One distinct memory I have of someone helping me is when I was going to perform at a concert in SDSU. My symphony was going to perform at SDSU and it was my first time going there. My parents ended up having no idea where to go, and we were running late, so they just gave up and told me to walk around campus. I was then dropped off at a random place on campus running all over the place trying to find the venue. Then a student there saw and noticed that I was lost and out of breath, so he came up to me and asked if I needed help. He then helped me and actually ran with me all the way to the building that I was suppose to get to. I thought this was really generous of him because he noticed that I needed help, he took time away from his life, and he actually took in that I was running really late and ran with me.

Well I cant really remember a time were I did something so generous that it would be categorized as a good Samaritan act, but I do remember a time where people helped me when I was in need of help. Right before my freshman basketball season was about to start we had a tournament at a high school called Valhalla. I think we were playing against the home team, and a couple of minutes into the game I went up for a layup and just landed wrong and all I heard was a loud pop! As soon as it happen I fell straight to the floor and one of my teamates stoped in the middle of the game and helped to the bench where I would sit for the rest of the game and the rest of the season because of how bad the injury was. My teamate LeAndre could of kept running and could of made a really good defensive play at the other end but he didnt care about that and he helped up and got me to the bench. After the game was over my teamates LeAndre and Tesean carried me to my car where my dad was waiting to take me to the hospital. This picture is of a injured Wayne Rooney getting helped off the feild, I know the picture is from soccer but just pretend it was basketball and thats what it would of looked like if I had a picture.

A Good Summaritan - Jake Schaeffer

One day when me and my brother were just kids we went swimming at my uncles house. I was just a little guy and I didn't know how to swim. This particular afternoon my parents were talking to my aunt and uncle and I took this opportunity to remove my cumbersome water wings ,and lower myself to the third step just deep enough. on the other end of the pool I saw my brother Joey jumping off the edge onto a big green alligator floating device. he did this several times and I finally decided the third step was not good enough anymore, I got out and I ran to the deep end and flung myself off the ledge landing perfectly square, straddling the Aliigator. Just kidding, in realty I missed the alligator by several feet . I was sinking rather quickly and had no way to surface , I was going to die. but out of nowhere I felt two hands on my waist as my brother hoists me out of the water . When I break the surface I realize my brotherwas lifting me over his submerged head in order to save me. this doesnt sound like a very heroic feat but for a six year old it was a death defying feat of bravery.

Good Samritan .

One time I was a good samaritan when I helped this man that was about to die . On a hot day I was out on the bay jetskiing and tubing , the water was clear and the water was not choppy at all . As we were tubing I noticed a floating jetski . So I told my uncle who was driving the jetski to let me get off and swim to the other abondonned jetski . So he did and I got off and started swimming as I got closerI saw a man floating in the water . First I thought he was dead and then I saw he was trying to move . He laid so lifeless . At that moment I grabbed his hand and looked at his face , it was swollen, pale and the mans eyes were very droopy . He was heavy set and very old . At I first I thought why would an old man be jetskiing by himself ? Then he started talking very lethargic and was incoherent to what I was saying . My mom told me to pull him to shore and I did . We called the coast gaurd and tried to figure out what was wrong with him . It turned out to be that he looked old because he had been in the water so long that his face got all shriveled looking . He had 3 broken ribs and a broken finger . His name was roberto and I think I saved his life .

Good Samaritan

I remember a time when I was a little kid. I was lost in a home depot, and my mother was no where to be found. I was very confused and did not really know what to do, but one of the staff members saw me walking around alone with a look of distress on my face. Being the good samaritan that he was, we walked around the whole store looking for my mother and we eventually found her looking at sodas near the cash register. The staff members act of kindness has inspired me to also help others in need.

Good Samaritan Act - Janelle Delosreyes

A few years ago, I did participated in the Meals-on-Wheels program. This program delivers food to seniors who are unable to leave their homes because of disabilities or access to transportation. It also reduces the isolation experienced by many of the elderly. Being a part of this program has helped me realize that being a Good Samaritan is much more rewarding rather than ignoring people in need of help. To me, this counts as being a Good Samaritan because it diminishes the amount of people who need the help from others and is more worthwhile in the long run.

Being a Good Samaritan-Jonathan Navarro

I once was a Good Samaritan when I was living back on the east coast and my friends and I were playing at the park. It had just stopped raining and we all went to the park. When we got there the ground was still prety wet. Ignoring this, we started to play a game of tag, when my best friend slipped and fell on the concrete. I was the first to help him back up to his feet then i walked him home. He was very thankful that i brought him home and his mother thanked me as well.

Good Samaritan Acts - Emerson Jimenez

I recall once when I acted as a Good Samaritan. Two months ago in the Philipines there was an effort to feed all the kids at an elementary school. My parents were planning for us to go swimming that day. It was a very hot day, but I decided to use my time to offer my help at the school. It lasted for about two hours and we were attacked by kids because we were told to pass out candy. We were very tired, but we were happy because we knew we had performed a good deed.

Good Samaritan Act

A while back when i was in middle school, my mom told me that i had to walk home because she could not use her car. As there was no other alternative to get home, i agreed and started walking. About halfway across, i noticed something in the grass and so i approached it and i found out it was 10 dollars that someone dropped. The first thing that came to my mind was finding the person who could have possibly dropped them, but as no one was around, i decided to keep them. Now full of joy that i found 10 dollars i continued to walk to my house, when i spot a homeless person laying down in a patch of grass with a grocery cart full of cans. I think to myself "Should I give this man the money that i just found?" It seemed like the right thing to do, I just found the money lying on the floor and i was most likely going to waste it on useless items, and so i approached this man and I just handed the money to him without saying anything. He looked at me kind of strange and he said to me "This is a lot of money, you sure you want to give it to me? I responded yes immediately and i did not think about it. He stood up, i could see he was smiling, and said to me "Thanks kid" and took off, then i quickly departed as well. as i continued my walk, i felt that i did a good thing, that that money could be more useful to him than me, i that i did not regret doing it.

Several  times  we  go  to  Mexico  to  visit  some  of  my  mother's  family.  When  we  go  back  to  the  borders  and  enter  to  the  United  States, we  see  some  poor  people  on  the  streets.  Sometimes  we  give  them  money  to  help  them  out.  We  went  an  area  to  give  poor  people  toys  and  toilet  paper  once.  Other  times  we  help  give  food  to  people  who  are  homeless  in  the  United  States.  Sometimes  people  need  to  stand  up  to  help  out  this  society.  If  we  had  a  society  with  Good  Samaritans  we  can  help  the  world.

Good Samaritan Act-Yesenia Rodriguez

I remember this one time 4 years ago, that was the first time that I realize that helping others in need make you feel good. It was in Puebla Mexico, in my grandparents town and it was really cloudy, my mom woke me up really early to get ready, we were going to an orphanage to give toys to all the kids. I did not feel like going so, I kind of felt like they were making me go and help them. When I got there I was in a really bad mood I was just waiting for the time to go away from there because it was really cold and rainy. Then I heard a little girl say "Is this really a barbie" by the look of her eyes I could tell that she was really happy and excited when she got the doll. Then I realize that we were doing a good thing there and I started to enjoy it. Now, we do it once a year is our family tradition and I really like helping my family when we do that task to see orphans happy.

Good Samaritan Act-Damien Martinez

When i was just 6 years old, my parents told me and my brother some horrible news, they were not going to give us any Christmas presents that year. Because how selfish we acted last year with our presents, they decided to do something new this time and give some presents to more fortunate children. So on Christmas day we went to a street in T.J. and gave out presents to kids who really don't get to experience Christmas like how we normally do. So as an 6 year old, you can imagine how hard it was to give a brand new toy to some other kid that I did not know. But in the end, even though I was only 6 years old, I got to experience how great it is to give presents to other kids that really appreciated it.

I remember one time I was being a good Samaritan was when I helped my brother up and aided him after he fell off his bike. It all happened about three years ago and I have always remembered this incident. My brother was riding his bike in the front of my house while I was sitting in the front. Then my brother pedals down the street super fast then he brakes and swerves out of control and crashes , scrapping his arm and his leg. I ran up to him to aid him and he was crying and yelling in excruciating pain. I tossed the fallen bike off him and carried him o my house. Inside i gave him water and washed off the dirt from his cuts. I put alcohol on them and put band aids them. He was so happy I was there to help him.

one time i can remember being a good Samaritan was when i was at football practice a couple weeks ago and we were doing snakes all the way to the 50-yard line.i had finished about 5th place aand there were teammates who were in the back by at lest the 30 yard line. so even tough i was tired i willingly decided to go back and help him/push him to go faster and to finish.i was putting positive thought into his head by saying come on you can do it,were almost there etc..and when we finished everybody applaud him as a job well done.

Being a Good Samaritan - Regine Hutalla

Growing up, my parents constantly accentuated the importance of giving back and being a Good Samaritan. My mother always said “A lot people have it way worse than you so find ways to help those who are less fortunate than yourself.” She works as a public health nurse meaning she works with foster children, the elderly, teen moms, and mostly the less fortunate. She was working with this family with one working parent, twelve children, and who were poverty-stricken. Then one summer before school started we decided to donate some clothes and school supplies because it was certain they could not afford it all on their own. That afternoon we drove to their home, rung the doorbell with two large Hefty bags filled with school supplies and clothes in our hands, and curious little faces peeked out of the two side windows. When they opened the door they welcomed my mom, sister, and I with excited and curious smiles to see what we brought for them. Their genuine reactions and their mother’s thankful gestures made me feel that small, selfless actions to us really meant a lot to them.

Good Samaritan Act - Arvin Dagoc

I remember a time when someone was a good Samaritan to me. It was back in middle school during 7th grade. In one of the first miles I did as a 7th grader, I somehow lost balance and fell on the grass. Then, someone who was running stopped, helped me up, and asked me if I was okay. I said yes, then we both kept running until we finished the mile. I did not even know the guy and throughout middle school did not really get to know him. But that one time is one I can never forget. I felt better after he helped me up and he probably had a good feeling for helping me up.

A time I can recall when I acted like a good samaritan was when I helped out an old lady get to her destination. An old woman was walking in the streets and was lost and confused where she was going. She had tried to ask almost every driver where to go, but they simply ignored her. I was in a hurry to get to my dentist appointment but while I was driving I felt bad about the old lady so I asked her what I can do to help, and so I gave her a ride home. This was a time I acted like a good samaritan. I figured I can book my appointment another time but helping out this lady is worth a lot more.

Good Samaritan- Kristen Sumbingco-Alba

One day, I hear little kids yelling, "Coco! Coco!" I ran outside to see what was happening. One of my neighbors dog has ran away from their home. So, I asked one of the little kids, "What happened to your dog? Would you like for me to help you find your dog?" Of course, they said that her dog ran away and needed my help. So I looked all around my neighborhood until we could finally find her dog. But hours passed and there was no sign of Coco. So we tried a little bit more to try to find her dog. It was passed six o'clock and we still have not found her dog. Until we finally decided it was time to go back home for dinner. Then we hear this dog from behind the bushes and found Coco! She was so relieved that she found Coco. She wanted to reward me for trying to find Coco with her, but I rejected it because I should not be rewarded for doing something good for someone else than myself. I would rather feel good for something good for someone instead of getting rewarded for doing something.

Good Samaritan- Patricia Bunag

A time I remembered being assisted by a Good Samaritan was during my childhood year as a second grader playing in the monkey bars. I watched each of my friends go by quickly as if it were something so simple that they looked like professionals in front of a beginner like me but it did not stop me from trying until I got the hang of it. As soon as it was my turn to go again, I was happily enjoying this, but no sooner than later, as my hand touched the third bar, I suddenly felt oil smudged around the palm of my hand as I grab the metal causing me to lose my grip and fall down against my back. I lay on the wood chips helplessly since the air from my lungs were physically knocked out of me, a sharp pain soon struck me as it occurred, I held my breath not to release my tears yet the feeling of it was too much for me to handle that I cried out loud getting the attention of one of my friends. Looking down on me, she got off the playground quick coming to my aid by slowly helping me up and bringing me to the nurse. In my condition, I was partially embarrassed for falling and crying in front of them from a simple game we all played but relieved that someone at least came to my need hastily and accompanied me to the nurse where I rested and was given ice to ease my discomfort.

Good Samaritan Act- Eugene Dorsey

A Good Samaritan; a person who voluntarily offers sympathy or help in a time of trouble. This can either be someone you know or a complete stranger. In my case this person was a complete stranger to me. A few months ago I got into a minor biking accident and was all by myself. Sad to say I crashed and wasn't able to move much after I realized what had happened. Luckily a stranger near by came to my rescue and helped me up and asked if everything was okay. He asked me if I had any major injuries or needed medical attention. Thankfully none of that was required I only had a few scrapes and bruises and was close to my house so I was able to walk home. Now when I'm biking I think of that one day and wonder what it would have been like if that amazing Samaritan had not been their to help me out and get me back on my feet. I realize now that I have to be more careful and cautious of my surroundings. We need more people in the world who are willing to help others, out of the kindness of their own heart's not expecting a reward or needing to be told to go assist. I appreciate that man that assisted me and hope to encounter more people like that if I am ever in dire need of assistance in the future.

Being a Good Samaritan

Being a Good Samaritan is all about assisting those who need help just because its the right thing to do. One time i remember being a Good Samaritan is when this old lady got stranded in the middle of the road near Otay Mall. As people drove passed her she gave up moving her car and just sat there stranded in the middle of the road. When my family and I drove by her, my dad and i both agreed to assist her and push her car to the side of the road. However since the car was going uphill it was impossible to push it, so all we did was guide the car backwards as she let go of the parking breaks and let the car go downhill. In the end, when we got to the side, she tried to pay us, we didn't accept because all we wanted to do was assist her because she needed help.

Good Samaritan Act-Bradley Roberto

A Good Samaritan is someone who voluntarily helps someone as an act of kindness. I remember of a time last year where I was entering a restaurant and I saw an elderly lady struggling to climb the stairs to the entrance. When I saw this lady, I approached her and offered to help her up the stairs, she kindly accepted, and I gently supported her by holding her arm as she slowly walked up each step. After she successfully got to the top of the stairs, she gave me a pat on my arm and thanked me with much appreciation. At the time I had no idea what a Good Samaritan was, but I knew it was right to help this stranger.

Good Samaritan.

A time I remember being aided by a good samaritan was actually in freshman year. It was passing period during lunch and I was walking to P.E. class, then I realized that my binder wasn't in my hand where I usually have it. The very first and last time that I set down my binder and I forgot it! I went back to the usual "hang out" spot, and my binder was no where in sight. Of course I did not want to be tardy in class so I turned around and walked to class again. After school I went to the front of the school to find the usual friends to ask if they saw where my binder went and I came across my friend Julie Mavez. I told Julie that I had lost my binder and thankfully, Julie said she found it and took it to the office so they could return it to me! That really left an impression of me. Most people would have probably left it there and not care about it at all. But not Julie, she took time out of her passing period time to make sure I received my binder. This made me very thankful and assured me that there is still people left in the world that are not selfish.

A time that I recall abetting someone is when I spotted a lost and confused lady. I could tell she was not from here, so I approched her and asked her if she needed some help. She barely understood english and had to use hand gestures to communicate with me.  I can understand what she was trying to point out but not clearly. Then she started to speak this language that I was very familiar with. She was speaking tagalog! I was filled with relief because I did not want to leave this helpless lady lost. I told her I can understand tagalog and her face lit up. As she was speaking, I finally can understand what she was trying to ask me. She wanted to know where Otay Ranch Town center was located because she was going to meet some of her family members there but got lost on the way, and did not carry her phone with her. I gave her directions to the mall and she thanked me for my help. Without my help she said she could have been wondering all over Eastlake. I did not ask anytihing in return because just by helping that lost lady made my day. When aidding someone, you tend to feel enlightened and it is a delighting feeling.

Being A Good Samaritan- Kayla Voas

Being a good Samaritan means that you help someone in need. Many people often hold a door opened for someone, helps them carrying something for someone else, or even just help them on a homework problem. Even though I help others in this way, I have also helped others in big ways. Last year a few weeks before Christmas my family, family friends, some of their friends and I created gift bags filled with toiletries, packaged foods, and clothing like mittens and hats. My family created about 15 gift bags, but in total of all the families that came with us there was about 75 to 100 gift bags. On Christmas day my family and I drove around downtown San Diego looking for homeless people. Once we found someone, one of us would get out of the car and hand them the gift bags we created. They were all very thankful and happy with what they received on that Christmas day. I also felt very thankful and happy myself being able to have the chance of giving out the gift bags and being a good Samaritan. We all plan to continue this tradition for many years to come.
