Plagiarism- A common error made among people when trying to finish up last minute assignments and get late items turned in. The true definition of plagiarism is the unauthorized use of another authors work as ones own without credit being given to the original author. Students plagiarize because they are not willing to do the work on their own, are to lazy, or feel what they have done is wrong so instead try to get ideas from a classmate which ultimately turns into plagiarism. Results of plagiarized work can be drastic. If plagiarism occurs in high school you receive a zero on your assignment, a written referral, a notification to your parents, and a possible suspension if a major issue. College's and other work places take this matter more seriously than high schools; possible outcomes for plagiarism include loss of job, removal from college or university, as well as the possibility being taken to court. Overall plagiarism is something no one should do for any reason; and all work you submit should be in your own words with your own ideas and philosophy's. This act represents who you truly are as a person.
