Plagiarism is defined as taking another author’s work and claiming it as your own. It is commonly associated in the high school and college scenario, but can be seen in professional life too. Plagiarism may seem like an easier alternative than actually doing your work but it can expose your true character and lead to very serious consequences. If you plagiarize it can demonstrate that you are lazy and lack ingenuity. It may also lead to academic punishment, like suspension and expulsion, and in almost all colleges and universities plagiarism is extremely unacceptable. Plagiarism can also be classified as a felony; people who plagiarize can be fined, lose their job, or sent to jail. Overall, plagiarism is something that you bring upon on yourself and is definitely not worth the consequences if caught.
