Blackout- Marielle Limbo
On September 9th that afternoon, there was a blackout. I was sitting watching television when all of sudden the electricity went down. I though it was just our house but when I stepped outside it appeared to be my whole neighborhood. Then later did I recieve a phone call from my mom that the power outage included the entire San Diego city with sokme neighboring cities as well. Luckly my family was prepared with some water, snacks, flashlights and candles. I was really surprised how everyone seemed calm about this situation. Usually druing a problem like this some people would even go crazy and alot of people would not know what to do and hoepless , but our city maintained its calmness and peaceful. What I leaned during this black out is that as human beings we rely on electricty too much, but that can change. When I went outside that night I noticed that our whole neighnorhood was bonding. I even found out some interesting stuff I did not know and even meet new people. I thought it was beautiful listening to other people while looking at the bright stars. Its unfortunate how some people loose track on real life with television, viedo games, and the internet. Sometimes its good to go out for a walk and enjoy nature.
