Blackout.

September 8, 2011 San Diego had a massive blackout stretching all the way from Orange County to Arizona. The black out was pure agony for me, I was on my macbook working on homework and suddenly my wifi turned off and I was just like, 'Whatever, this always happens.' So I kept trying and trying to connect back to it and I couldn't until my sister said, "Oh great, the power's out again!" So for an hour I worked on homework using my blackberry's Internet which was really hard to do, and then both my parents came home. My dad being a worker for SDG&E, had his phone going crazy with texts and calls. He also had on a work radio on so we could hear what was going on. (We listened to workers as they tried to figure out what happened. This lasted for like 2 hours and then I went to take a shower leading by me going to bed. This made me realize how much I depend on electricity. I needed to charge my phone, my ipod, my macbook, they were all dying and I needed them fully charge for the next morning. Everything I was thinking of doing to keep me entertained required electricity. This was just a eye opener and I'm planning on finding other things to entertain me in case a situation like this ever happens again.
