Dear Mrs. Ocean,

A law requiring citizens to act as Good Samaritans in times of emergency should not be mandated. It should not be mandated because it is too risky.

If a Good Samaritan law were to be ratified, citizens required to abet someone in need could potentially harm themselves or worsen the situation; since a majority of the people are incapable of acting appropriately in emergency situations. Enacting a Good Samaritan law is not only dangerous but unfair for bystanders who happen to be at the scene of the emergency because if they do not help they could possibly face punishment.

Thank you for your time and please put my thoughts into consideration.

Respectfully,

Regine Hutalla
