After experiencing the first quarter of sophomore year, it was really delightful to finally have a whole two week break from school. Over those two weeks, I'm proud to say that it didn't fully consist of kicking back and relaxing, and that I was able to factor in some productivity and personal growth as well. For one, I had my driving permit validated after taking my first behind-the-wheel lesson and for the rest of break, I around with my mom and my brother and also took the remaining two lessons to get in some practice before my license test. From that, I went from being tense and nervous in the driver's seat, to confident and comfortable, since it has all become very familiar. I also had volleyball practice daily, as well as two games over break. I sprained my thumb, unfortunately, but it wasn't bad enough to keep me from practicing and playing. Not only did I grow stronger as a player, but our team grew stronger bonds from practicing and having a bonfire during break that built our friendships as well as trust, which is an overlooked part of being a great team. I also managed to not procrastinate on my homework assigned over the two weeks, which relieved me from cramming on the final few days. It felt really good to know that my homework was all done before the time I would usually get it finished. Finally, although it wouldn't seem like a way to grow as a person, I managed to get through seasons three, four, and five of Boy Meets World, which was an amazing television show back when I was too young to really understand the lessons that each episode has. Every episode showed me a fascinating aspect on life, coming from behind a screen, and that really helped me grow as a person through the characters' experiences. Those things are basically the foundation of my personal growth over Fall Break.
