In the play, "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar" he is portrayed as a superstitious, yet arrogant man. This is proven when he is warned by a soothesayer to "beware the ides of march" when he blatantly shrugs him off and calls him a dreamer. This shows that he does not think anything would happen to him due to the amount of power that he has. However, he still shows great care towards the people of Rome, and seems to want the best for them.
