In the past two weeks, I experienced a wonderful growth by serving a Christian church called The Rock. My dad serves a ministry called the Rock Home Repair Ministry and my brother and I would help out. This ministry is a community service activity which all the money goes to the church and we help anybody in need for a home repair. Last saturday we went to Temecula to help an elderly woman move her belongings to her house. I would sometimes participate in this ministry just to get community service hours, but I began to realize that it's not only about getting hours, it's about working together as a Christian family to abet the people in need. Also it's pretty fun to help someone out and it's very touching to see the person we help out cry for our effort when we accomplish the task. After that I began to feel good about myself and next time I'm going to serve more in this ministry without complaining. Over break I learned that it's not all about what you receive it's about what you give to that person who needs the help.
