Senator Cassius in my opinion is the main antagonist in the play. Cassius seems to be the one that wants to change the way people think and is constantly pushing for it such as making people question and think about Julius Caesar being in control. He so far has brainwashed Brutus a servant of Rome and Casca, a senator. According to Casca's conversation with Cicero, Cassius is a "bird of night" meaning that he is closing watching events in Rome all the time waiting for the right moment. His main goal is to assassinate Julius Caesar and to establish the republic of Rome once again. In the play so far, Julius Caesar is unaware about Cassius's plans although he senses that Cassius is dangerous.
